Robert Joseph Geisler

June 25, 1943 - Aug. 13, 2012

A graveside service to pay our respects will be held for Robert Joseph Geisler, 69, of North Bend at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Gardiner Cemetery. He was previously interred.

Bob was born June 25, 1943, in Jewell County, Kansas to Edward and Maggie (Young) Geisler. He passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 13, after a valiant two-year battle with lung cancer.

At age 21, he moved to Reedsport, and found work in a mill. Bob also worked for West Coast Trucking for many years and then quit to drive long haul for Leavitt’s, where he made many terrific friends. He was once featured on KVAL leading a convoy of trucks delivering long poles to a hurricane-devastated North Carolina.

Bob and his wife of 34 years, Thea, had a happy and loving marriage, enjoying their little spread up Kentuck Inlet, their trips to Reno and Las Vegas, Nev., and their friends and family. Thea passed away in 2004. After some time, Bob was lucky enough to meet his next love and partner, Virginia Mudock, with whom he spend the last two years of his life.

Bob was a loving stepdad to his daughters, Beverley Bonniksen and Vicki Borrevik, and a fun, funny and loving Papa to his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
