Cimarron - Janice J. Faulds, 78, passed peacefully with her family by her side on April 23, 2024 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on November 26, 1945 at Dodge City, the daughter of Boyce and Josephine (Glaze) Carroll. 

Janice grew up in Dodge City and was a graduate of Dodge City High School in 1963. She then attended Dodge City Community College and graduated in 1965. On April 13, 1968 she married Rod Faulds at the First Christian Church in Dodge City. They raised their family on a farm near Minneola. Janice was also a Certified Paraprofessional for Hearing Impaired and Special Education for 25 years for the Minneola School District. 

She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City and was a current member of the Cimarron First Christian Church.

Janice is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rod Faulds of Cimarron; two daughters, Michelle Hicks and husband Brian of Cheney and Trish Burns and husband Trevon of Cimarron; four grandchildren, Courtney Heinze and husband Jordan of Cheney, Connor Hicks of Conway Springs, and Gage Burns and Mason Burns of Cimarron; two great grandchildren, Carter & Avery Heinze. She was preceded in death by her parents Boyce and Josephine Carroll.

Funeral service will be held at the Cimarron First Christian Church on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM with David Johnson and Kyle Lawson presiding.  Burial will follow at Appleton Township Cemetery in Minneola.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday April 25, 2024 from Noon to 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Manor of the Plains, Hospice of the Prairie, or The Shepherd's Center of Cimarron all in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.  

 

Survived By: Spouse Rodney Faulds, Married 56 years, two daughters Michelle Hicksand Husband Brian of Chaney, KS, Trish Burns and Husband Trevon of Cimarron, KS 4 grandchildren and 2 ggrandchildren
