William LaVerne Rumsey

William LaVerne Rumsey, 63, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on October 14, 1945 in Dodge City, the son of William LeRoy and Vera Burl (Hess) Rumsey. 

William graduated from Dodge City High School. On June 6, 1965, he married Judy Fromm in Dodge City. He worked in Dodge City area for many years, including the last fifteen years at Broce Manufacturing. He loved spending time at his lakehouse in Dorrance, and fishing at Wilson Lake. 

William is survived by his wife, Judy Rumsey of Dodge City; one son, Darin Rumsey and wife Sylvia of Fort Morgan, Colorado; one daughter, Lisa Wuggazer and husband Bill of Manhattan; one sister, Eva J. Phelps of Broomfield, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Tabor, Anthony, Brendan, Audry, and a new grandchild expected in September. 

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Dodge City with Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be at a later date. Friends may sign the book Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
